How big can you print?
Our printer has a vertical limit of 13 feet, so any mural is limited to this dimension. However, if you would like mural high on a building, we can mount the printer on a scaffold. There is no lateral limit, we can print sideways until we meet an obstruction.
What motifs can be printed?
You can print virtually any graphic, sketch, image, logo or text!
Even paper artwork is perfectly printable! Processing and printing old originals, maps, drawings, postcards, sketches, photos or paintings work perfectly and the results are absolutely impressive. So it's just a few clicks from any paper artwork to your wall!
What about uneven floors and walls?
There is a leveling system in the rear axis that compensates for surface unevenness in the floor. We can also lay down tracks that create a level surface. In addition, laser sensors are installed that detect wall unevenness of up 3.3in, and the paint can compensate for up to 10mm of wall imperfections or texture.
What kinds of surface can be printed?
We use a very resistant, plastic-like UV ink that hardens immediately under the integrated UV curing lamps and can be used on almost all substrates. Thus, plaster, wallpaper, wood, brick, latex paints, stone, clinker, plastic, metal, glass, most tiles and many other materials can be printed without any problems.
How long does it take?
That depends on the size and resolution of the image to be printed. We can print up to 21 square feet per hour.
Can I remove a wall print?
Of course! On glass with a ceramic hob scraper or razor blade. Otherwise, a print can always be painted over in two or three layers. Only on wood must be sanded or - as with metal or concrete - sandblasting or glass bead blasting.
What resolution can you print?
The wallPen supports print resolutions between 300 and 1200 DPI (dots per inch)
As a rule, most images are rasterized and printed in 600 x 720 DPI. Don't be fooled, 600 DPI on the wall is already absolutely stunning in real terms, especially since wall prints are usually large motifs and are always viewed from some distance.
How long will it last?
We guarantee that our ink will retain its color for at least 12 years indoors. Outdoors, the UV resistance is 2 years unprotected, but can be extended to more than 5 years by applying a transparent UV coating.
How long does it take to dry?
In general, the ink is immediately dry and scratch resistant immediately after printing.
Can I use chemicals to clean the wall?
Our products stand up to bleach, industrial grade degreaser, lysol, isopropyl alcohol, and other household and industrial cleaners without diminishing the qualities of the print.
Is it safe?
Our ink is waterproof, non-flammable, and produces no waste for the environment, unlike vinyl. The printing process produces no fumes, many of our customers choose to stay open while we print, people love to watch our machine at work!
